A few more details would help. Is it original paint or has it been restored? How does it run? Is there anything major wrong with it? Do you need to know value for insurance purposes or are you trying to sell it?

I just purchased one a few months ago for $125.00, but yours is much better appearance wise than mine. How about posting a few more pictures from various angles, and tell us more about it.

It runs perfectly and I'm really considering selling it but also curious about the value.

My take based on your few words above:

If you repainted it well, (disassembled everything) it will be worth more to you than it will be to any buyer.

If you painted in place (judging by the over spray on the tires, you did) with a rattle can, probably $100-300 depending on the area and buyer and closer inspection.

But I am far from an expert in older models.

I can understand that, they are a pain if you don't have the tools to remove and replace them yourself.

Personally i think the rest of the paint job looks fantastic, just needs a tire scrubbing. I think the time, blood sweat and tears is more valuable than what you will get out of it, but as far as selling price for a better done restoration, I will have to defer to the more experienced.

What I do know is that basically it varies WILDLY depending on a lot of factors and i think a little dumb luck.

But I hope you keep it, enjoy it and stick around a while!

As stated, clean the tires up. A new seat would help the value but its also more money invested. Its funny,  we put our blood sweat and tears into these things and sometimes It can be a struggle to sell them for more than the original purchase price, before they are refurbed or restored. If you had the tractor at a tractor show where there are guys walking around with money in their pockets and a pickup or trailer handy, (such as the BIG SHOW) you MIGHT get 400.00. JMO of course.

Overall it does look pretty nice. I have an original 657 with a 6hp Kohler yank start in my fleet that I've considered doing an all out restore on, but then again she don't look too bad in her work clothes and what would I use to haul fire wood that I don't mind getting scuffed up or leaving outside? Personally I love the little short frames of this vintage, they kinda remind me of a bad azz Gremlin or an early Vega with a V-8 under the hood.

Ken, I wouldn't mind havin' me a Gremlin X with a 360 hiding under the hood either

I think that is the correct vintage (60's?). One of our members on here sells replica seat covers to keep the original look. Check him out under the "vendors" section of the main forum. I think its "Wheelhorse of Michigan" or something like that.

Good looking :wh:

Do you have a mower deck with it or any other attachments?? If you do the $$$ will go up as well.

As it sits I would think $300 range depending on the buyer more if ya got goodies with it  :handgestures-thumbupright:

Also   WELCOME TO :rs:

If it runs as good as it looks...I would say you are in the $400 range for sure.  I happen to have an 857, and it is my favorite horse.  Hope you keep it and enjoy it.  :)

BTW...Welcome to Red Square.

Nice looking 857. That was the first WH I restored. Generally we have more $ in our machines than we can get back. If you're thinking of selling it I would definitely clean up the tires. Not too sure that you would need to replace the seat but they do finish them off. Check my seats out in the vendor section or PM me.
