snowhound 105 #1 Posted February 15, 2014 After running my single stage blower for about 45 min. today I was cleaning it of and knocked some snow onto the drive shaft between the pulley and the bearing and it melted immediately. The shaft was hot enough to feel heat through my glove, is this normal? There isn't a fitting on the bearing so I can't get any grease into it. Thanks Ed (Snowhound)
lae51967 14 #2 Posted February 15, 2014 I'm fairly new to using a blower attachment but it doesn't sound good to me. I would replace it. Should be able to find a match at a farm store.
Kelly 1,029 #3 Posted February 16, 2014 Warm is ok, hot not good, some bearings are easy to track down, there are a few threads on here about replacing bearings and finding the correct ones needed.
