srw45 0 #1 Posted February 13, 2014 I have a 160 WH where the auto shift pin slips out of the hole in tranny front plant . I put it back in and it will work fine for a short time, then it comes out. I've put washers behind pin shaft to move it deeper in to hole ,but it still slips out. Could the tractor frame be moving away from tranny? Is the tranny bolted to the tractor frame? Could the bolts be lose, letting the two shift around and the pin to come out? It only takes a short time to repair, but when it's -30 any time is to long. daveoman1966 3,762 #2 Posted February 13, 2014 With some certainty, my bet is that the tractor frame-plate is cracked where it bolts to the trans. There are 4 bolts making this connection. If it is joint cracked, that will allow the the tractor to 'flex' and the pin (concentric) to pop out of the nylon cam. I have repaired a few of these with the same problem. It can be done without welding, although a welder can help. This thractor is a 520H, but the repair for the C-160 is identical.
