roscoemi 245 #26 Posted February 5, 2014 Dino the Ranch is just a couple miles north of me, cool place to snowmobile to with the log bar with an open fire in the middle. They used to have a great breakfast buffet on Sunday mornings. You probably drive right by the house if you go through town to get to Garfield to go up to the Ranch. Yeah, they tore out the Brown Bridge Dam reducing the lake to a very large mud pit with tree stumps. In the first stages they screwed up and flooded a lot of homes on the Boardman River. You can get cherries from McMannis again, but I can give you directions to a better place east of Acme behind the casino. Their apples are the best I have ever had. KATO 115 #29 Posted February 6, 2014 WAY TOO MUCH...please make it stop... not a record (yet) but i've measured 9 and a half FEET so far in my driveway....everybody is runnin out places to put it in town... thankfully out here we have big lots 2/3 acre is smallest. i live within 3 miles of one resort and 5 miles of another If i go to the top of Horseshoe Valley and look north west i can see the hills at Blue Mountain, which is right on Georgian Bay .I guess thats why they build ski resorts here LOL. the record for snow (at my house) was winter of 95/96 when i measured 15 feet 8 inches ... smoreau 658 #30 Posted February 6, 2014 I have a niece that lives near you in Kingsley. I know the snows you get there from the lake effect. I remember in 86 we were up there and it snowed 3' in one night! I was 12 years old and it was up to my chest walking through it! I have just about ran out of room to use the V blade this year. I normally only use the blower tractor a few times, but this year that's all I can use in most spots. In the field across from me ranges from 12 - 24" deep and it is hard all the way to the ground. You can walk on top of it very easy. I plow a path for my daughter to get to the bus stop, but know I have to use the blower to get it over the banks as I cant bove them back any farther. In front of my place it is 4' deep and Gabby is having fun making tunnels in it. But I can't wait for spring! it will be a little soggy though. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

He got a skid steer to dig out mailboxes today. Smoreau, up here you need a blower at this point. A plow will move the snow, but to where? lol I knew with all the acorns and walnuts this fall that this winter would be hard, but wow! roscoemi 245 #33 Posted February 7, 2014 Terry, the kid just will not get off the Ranger! If it's snowin, he's goin! The poor Tecky is just beat. Less than 80lbs of compression, burning a bit of oil, carb fell off, exhaust fell off it's begging for a break. This spring it will get a rebuild, it has to have a million hours on it by now and deserves a little tlc as the kid will not let a little seat time get past him! After my Andrew looked at the pic of your little guy sitting on his tractor in the snow, He's begging me to let him plow next year. we put andrew's ranger in storage for the winter because it just wasn't snow worthy at the time.... so like you, I'll be working this summer on getting the snowplow ready ,new tires and tire chains and weights ready for next year...and plus he's grown some so its easier for him to pull the lift lever back. he can't wait!!. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
roscoemi 245 #35 Posted February 7, 2014 Terry, how old is he, P'Chop is 10. Load the rear tires, add chains and put tri ribs on the front, they will make a big difference on that little tractor. Chop's will be rebuilt/restored after the snow but before mowing season because " Dad I have work to do"! Buzz 502 #41 Posted February 7, 2014 The first snow this week we were about 10 miles south of the rain/snow line. It poured for several hours but no snow. The second storm we were about 20 miles south of the rain/ice line (thank God). Just rain, no ice coated trees or power lines, no electric outages. Keeping our fingers crossed for the next one.
