stack on my 753

Recommended Posts

I bought a stack for my 753 but I'm worried about it breaking my engine cast. Is there an alternative muffler I could use as a stack that wouldn't require a brace? If not, and I have to use a brace for any stack, how could I make a brace for this muffler? Thanks in advance.

Im no expert on stacks, but It looks like you could welt a mounting tab on the muffler and add a strap to one the the head bolts. (I'm not sure if this is frowned upon, but all three of my kohlers came with some sort of right angle bracket from the factory under a head bolt)

That may interfere with your hood, but you would have to check. Basically gravity is just adding a pretty large force right at the connection to the engine so you need to help "un-twist" that force. You cen either lift from below or pull back towards the engine from above.

I hope that made sense. :eusa-think:
