The GT1800 is a Garden Tractor and except for the Briggs motor, it is the same as a 400 series and all attatchments will fit.

As varosd said, same as a 400 but with a B&S and 1" axles but that's no biggie. Same attachments. I bought a GT1100 in 1985 brand new for $800. It had a 11hp B&S and I figured I'd just replace the B&S with a Kohler when it broke but it never did.....even after submerging it in a pond one winter when the ice broke. I had plenty of attachments for my other Wheel Horses that fit and that GT1100 was a great machine.

Actually its a 1 1/8" axle same as my 1988 520-H, same Eaton 1100 tranny, hubs are part # 105763-03

The Work Horse series was only available for two years (1983-1984) and I dont think they were a big seller compared to the same machine with a Kohler under the hood. So that makes them a bit harder to come by than a 300 or 400 series machine. But dont be fooled into thinking that harder to find equals worth more money, thay actually sell for less than a comparable machine with a Kohler.

  I have a GT-1600 (originally a Briggs 16 twin) thats been re-powered with a Kohler magnum 10.

And after getting my Work horse running, EricJ noted that the Eaton 1100 in the Work Horses had the Toro Consumer 108320
GEAR 22T DRIVE just like the later 520-HC.  My 1988 520-H has the 20 T gear.   The Work horse is a lot faster!! :D

Rj24: clean her up, change all the fluids and filters and you should have nice rig.

Do you mean transmission oil? If so it should use 10w-30 or 10w-40. When you pull the dipstick and you should see clean motor oil, not automatic transmission fluid.

That was a 60" deck and its for the 520's with forward swept front axles, so no, it wont work with your GT-1800. Biggest you can use is a 48" attach-a-matic era deck. Thats means a deck built from 1973 to present.

Mike...........

PS...Craigslist links are not allowed here. Had to delete.

Here are the manuals for the 48" deck sold in 1984 for the GT-1800 Twin. There are other decks that will fit. Gives you an idea of what's required.

This 42" rear discharge deck will also fit
