I am reasonably sure that the H60 points are the same.  I'll see if I can find my notes with more information.

The part # that I used on mine was Napa 7-01024.

Snow shouldn't be a problem since you have snow tires...They're in that BIG Merc trunk! :ROTF:

Sorry about that.

I just reviewed my notes and realized that my motor (from a 502) was an HT55A-3088.   The points must be one of the differences.

Probably no help to you, but I did find a picture of some H60 points that are different again:

yup sure enough those are the points i got and they are too small.

the difference between the pin and mounting screw is longer on mine and the wire connecter is on top.

Your engine should have a WICO 29692(FW2681) magneto. All h55d spec 2113 engines i have do so. Points are Tecumseh part #28524, condenser is Tecumseh part #29559.

Both not easy to find.post-484-0-57070500-1390447247.jpgpost-484-0-30947600-1390447257.jpgpost-484-0-73987200-1390447225.jpgpost-484-0-86407900-1390447234.jpg

Incredibly there are quite a few of each on eBay right now. I suggest getting a couple of each.

ok we got new points and still an issue. i'm about done.

looks like the coil is bad. if i can't find a complete good ignition set up i'm putting a clone in it.

so does anybody have a good complete ignition set up for a Tecumseh h55d-2113.

Unless you get anther h55 that is not going to be easy or a fat fix. I assume you are not getting spark?

Replacement coils are available, but as you know this is the weak spot for most Techy's.  An old school JD mechanic told me that when they had one with weak or no spark the best solution was to mount a Kohler coil externally but use the Techy point setup.  Of coarse this may not be an option if you want the original look and you must have a working charging system as well.  None of my tractors have working charging systems so I have not yet tried it.  Another option would be to locate a mag from an H60 with charging coils and retrofit, it should have no problem bolting up and then your parts would be more common.

Check the gap between the coil and the magnets it should be as close as possible without hitting, this is not easy but a procedure for this is in the Techy manuals.  Clay or playdoh/silly putty can be used to measure the clearance.  Once you have the gap set then you will have to re-time the points.  I actually do this on the bench much easier then bent over the tractor.

well thanks guys but this has come to an end.

i found a lot more issues with the tractor. broken frame and broken rear end.

if i fix the tractor it will get a clone.

:scared-eek: Ouch  Looks like some kids thought that poor Wheel Horse was a 4 wheeler...  If your going to abandon the project at least make sure it can give it's internal organs so another can live.

to me i think somebody backed into it with a truck while it was against a wall or something.

never seen anything like it and i've seen some beat up machines.

i took a major bath on this one but it will live again.

the rear case is shot too.

what is the value of a complete good running h55d-2113.

comes with stock exhaust and heat shield.

we've had it running 3 times and runs good with no smoke or noises.

i'm thinking of selling it.
