love plowing snow

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, just came in from plowing 6" new snow out off my drive and my neighbors mail box.10 degrees out but who caries. That little 1979  c-101-8 loves the snow. Just thinking out loud why can't they make tractors like that any more? The only other thing I have that is worth more is my beautiful wife, but she is a little older model. Have a great winter all and be safe, we all have something or someone that needs us. Bob from western Pa.( Just to clarify the young lady in my member picture is my daughter! )

Yep plowing has always been fun. Makes you feel like a bull-dozer operator on a small scale!

I grew up plowing snow in the snow belt with a 604 (when the Tecky wasn't out of it! :) ). Loved plowing at night with no lights and the giant lake-effect flakes cascading down. Sometimes now if I'm plowing at night, I'll turn the lights off if I'm not near the road.

The only plowing I have done over the years has been with my jeep. Would like it with the wheel horse to. Had a great time. Only twice with the 416-8 and the snowthrower. It's funny. Now I have the weights the chains. We have no snow. Cheeesh.

I would rather move snow any day...grass is easy and once too often when it is in season.  I think you never move snow the same way twice...it is different every time you mount the hosrse...I do not think that is the same with grass.  A 50' drive way is much easier to clear then 1/2 acre, or more, of grass to cut every week for 5 months.  Happy Summer...OOHH...it's time to mow the grass again.  Give me a break. :ychain::)

I prefer riding in the winter myself. Cold weather gear is all I need. Summer heat on the other hand I cannot handle, I hate it. The older I get the more I hate the heat, even more than the bitter cold so I will take anything over the brutal heat..............

I'm pretty much a grass cutting and tilling guy. I love the smell of fresh cut grass and newly tilled soil. I'm sure its all what we are used to from childhood. Although we have some differing opinions of how we best enjoy our Wheel Horses, the one thing that is the common denominator for us is evident at the Big Show. It still amazes me how these little tractors pull us together from many the many different directions of our residence and favorite use of the machines.

Although I lean more in the direction of warm weather use, I do have a snow blade on hand just in case! :handgestures-thumbupright:

Road-Track

In the last week I plowed my 350' driveway with 3-4inches of wet snow with the C165 8sd and today I used the C145 hydro to blow 4-5 of dry snow.  Just having fun up in Vermont. :banana-skier:

I love plowing snow, I can virtually stay in the saddle all day. I have only had a chance to use my plow twice so far, the first time I plowed for 6 hours before calling it a day and the second time I was in the seat about two and a half hours.

You all can have the mowing, I hate hot weather with a passion, far and a away worse than winter, ice, or snow! I hate the heat, the bugs, the weeds, the skeeters, the nonstop cutting the grass trimming weed eating etc. Give me the plow any old day! I have asthma and allergies which summer also makes 10 times worse, yup at near 52 years old I hate hot summers more than winter each year older I get! I say ba humbug to summer, gimme fall and winter!
