MalMac 1,331 #1 Posted January 18, 2014 Was out in the shop last night doing some Preventive Maintenance on the my plow tractor since it has seen some hard use as of late. I noticed that when the blade was angled hard left or right that the clearance between the tire and Plow Skid was very very close. Less than a 1 inch. The plow is a 5 hole instead of a 3 hole. I took this plow off of one of my 520's. I removed the extension kit because it was going on a C series. I have never noticed the clearance problem before on this tractor with using a 3 hole blade and skids. Was the 5 hole only used on the 520's with the extension kit? I checked the holes for wear and everything was just fine. Just seems like to me clearance of only a inch is not much. Would not take much for the corner of the skid to get into a tire. leeave96 487 #2 Posted January 18, 2014 I use a 42 inch blade without an extension kit with my 520H w/swept fwd front axles with no troubles. I've always thought the 48 might put it into the front wheel.
