fourwheels0 191 #1 Posted January 10, 2014 what are the differences between a 59 and 60 or how can i tell a 59 from a 60. did the 59 have the arched/notched lift?. what decks had 4 guide wheels what years had the straight front axle.
AMC RULES 37,144 #2 Posted January 11, 2014 Maybe check out the pict gallery to compare 'em. http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/forum/19-1955-to-1964/
Lars 526 #3 Posted January 11, 2014 (edited) 59 is a Rj and straight axel.. 60 is a suburban 400 or 550 and cast front axel.. i think it was deck for suburbans that had 4 wheels on them.. did the 59 have the arched/notched lift?. Nope.. suburbans did.. Edited January 11, 2014 by Knusern
fourwheels0 191 #4 Posted January 11, 2014 i checked the pics in the gallery here and the one i'm looking at doesn't match up. it has a solid front hood, arched lift, drop front axle. also has an electric and pull start kohler. i'm thinking it's a 60 and not 59 like the owner thinks. Jake Kuhn 1,573 #9 Posted January 11, 2014 That is a 61 551, the only mid engine to ever have a 2 piece trans and battery box. Looks complete other than the belt guard, looks to be in nice shape too! I would say the price is probably at the very top of what its worth, but it does look nice!
