TravelinJavelin 620 #1 Posted January 10, 2014 well right now I have a k301 in a 73 12hp 8spd and was wondering someday stuffing n a k341 and was curuious after a good rebuild if I'd gain anymore hp would be happy if to get into the 18 to 20hp bracket but whatever works as not as its not less and torque factor I'm sure would increase too
WH nut 553 #2 Posted January 10, 2014 Nope, the only thing you will notice is better performance because its fresh.
Fordiesel69 258 #3 Posted January 10, 2014 STD bore vs 0.030" over is not going to be very noticeable. On a dyno, mabe you will see it in the numbers, but during operation probably not. A K341 is very badass, I would go for it, but only bore it to what it needs to allow for future rebuilds.
TravelinJavelin 620 #4 Posted January 10, 2014 well that's ok too its the torque that matters to me more than anything
Docwheelhorse 2,647 #5 Posted January 12, 2014 Leave it as close to stock as possible... I believe you can use .005 oversize piston rings on a standard bore or punch it .010, .020 or .030 but the more you bore it the more "life" you take out of the block. Going the minimum amount will allow for future rebuilds years down the road. Tony
