JackC 617 #5 Posted January 9, 2014 wheel Horse owners are way ahead of the game. Ford has just developed a roof top solar charger for their new electric car. Harbor Freight has one on sale for about $16.00.

56flatbed 29 #7 Posted January 9, 2014 The only problem I see with this is, the only time my tractors are outside in the sun, they are running! Wally
Sparky-(Admin) 21,296 #8 Posted January 10, 2014 My boat sat in a lake all summer and I would hook up a similar setup if I wasn't going to use it for a couple weeks. The only battery draw would be the auto bilge pump on rainy days. The battery was always "full" when I got to the docks. Mike.......

Anglo Traction 761 #10 Posted January 10, 2014 Those small PV Chargers are great . Here in UK , I use it to trickle Charge the Horses Batteries while in the Garage ( place the panel on the window with the supplied suckers). It came with Battery Terminal Clips and a Plug in . Also use them for when the Autos need a battery change, use it as a Slave supply to maintain ECU and PIN memory during the change. About a 4" x 12" panel produces about 17.5 volts and a couple of watts. Best useful little gadget I've bought for a looong time. Equivalent to about $18. Still going strong after 6 years.
