dodgemike 52 #26 Posted January 9, 2014 Welcome to Red Square. You have A couple of nice projects there! Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk
pj1960 11 #27 Posted January 9, 2014 WOW I never been welcomed this much before thank you. Now my first question. If the tires are rotten will common 16 650 x 8s fit the front and will 1250 fit on the back without interfering with the mower guage wheels? The 1250s I could find on rims from a junked GT . 56flatbed 29 #28 Posted January 9, 2014 Welcome to Red Square, hope you take advantage of all the talent here, you certainly don't need any luck. Great find! Wally
rdmanone 29 #29 Posted January 10, 2014 Those tractors are in good shape. It should not take too much to get them going. Keep the pictures coming as you go.
diggerjames 64 #30 Posted January 10, 2014 Very nice projects indeed welcome to red square
Kelly 1,029 #31 Posted January 10, 2014 Common front tire swaps on those rims are the 4x8 tires, yes the bigger 16x6.5x8 will fit, on the rear stock size is all you can run with the deck, that being 23x8.5x12
Anglo Traction 761 #32 Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) Your one lucky man PJ. Both those 857s over here in UK would be considered to be in great condition as found. Both would be saved. Good Luck and Welcome. Edited January 10, 2014 by Anglo Traction
jackhammer 546 #33 Posted January 10, 2014 Welcome to the board -- great tractors there! Looks like 2 possible winners to me, good luck
Coadster32 793 #34 Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) Welcome to Nice tractors indeed. From the pics you show, they look pretty darn complete, and in good condition. Good luck with them. I agree with Anglo...both would be saved. You could keep one for yourself, and sell the other one to pay for the whole ball of wax. (or keep them both ) One is never enough...especially around here. pj1960 11 #35 Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) I was curious about the tire size swap. Snappers are everywhere here so the 16 x8s are easy to find used. I read somewhere about using 570x8s too. I am lucky we have a tire place who sells all mower tubes for 5.00 each even the big 12 inchers so unless my tires are totally worthless there gettin new tubes. Heres another thing that makes this 150.00 deal sweet. This old running Snapper comes with it. I can sell it for 100.00 easily or alittle more.People around here love them (dont ask me why). pj1960 11 #36 Posted January 12, 2014 (edited) Doesnt look like we will be able to get the tractors. My help who was gonna haul them for me is not able to and I have no trailer or back up so I may have to leave them alone. We have had this deal made all week to pick up the mowers today.Last night at 11pm. I get a call with 100 excuses why they cant go. Now I have to cancel out at the last minute making me look like a fool. I hate when people cancel on me and have little faith in those who do. When I did call he assured me all was fine and I agreed to at least come and give deposit or whatever and he said fine. 30 minutes later he calls back putting ME off til later this week. Time will tell but I got a feeling this deal will never work out. Just a gut feeling. Edited January 12, 2014 by pj1960
19richie66 17,498 #37 Posted January 12, 2014 I would be hitting a uhaul place and rent a truck for a day. For those two mowers and the extras, it would still make it worthwhile. I wouldnt back out yet. I understand though when you plan something and you get hosed by help. Good luck, Richie
dclarke 4,032 #38 Posted January 12, 2014 The 857 is a great tractor, good luck with them.

Lately though it seems I have to chase sellers down. I dont get it. I dont trust anyone no matter how nice or sincere they sound.Been lied to by some of the best. I really doubt I will ever see the WHs. When my plans didnt happen I think the guy washed his hands of me. Edited January 12, 2014 by pj1960
