314H Hydro Fan

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone.

I have a quick question that I'm hoping to get opinions on.  I was snowblowing over the weekend with my 314H and two stage thrower attachment.  I was attempting to cut a path to my propane tank in the back yard.  I had a few instances where the tractor lost traction and the wheels spun a bit.  The tire chains I am using are a bit loose.  When the tires spun, the tire chain ended up taking out the plastic blades on the hydro fan.  My question is, do you think I will be ok operating the tractor in the winter time without the fan? Do I run the risk of overheating the hydro without it?  I intend to replace it once the weather gets a bit more comforable.  It seems like it should be a simple job to replace.  I only use this tractor as a snow machine so its not used in hot weather at all.

Thanks,

Greg

I dont have a fan on my sundstand and it hardly gets warm in the winter.  It should be ok.

However it WILL overheat in the spring / summer if you forget.

I'd fix it.

A new fan is $18 odd at your Toro dealer and mounts with one easily accessable bolt.
