rustyoldjunk 127 #26 Posted December 7, 2013 I like them on some tractors.
47JDG 65 #27 Posted December 7, 2013 (edited) I like stacks on these little tractors too, but I would add a support strap fastened to the head or something substantial on the engine that will move with it. There is a lot of stress out there on these stacks with all of this plumbing pipe and then a full size small tractor muffler. All of the original exhausts, if substantial all are supported. I have seen a couple jugs on small engines that have cracked because they had a big exhaust conglomeration stack and had no support (that can be a lot of weight out there). These were both Briggs engines, but I see a lot of stacks on this site with no support at all. I guess that's OK if you don't run your tractor or use it much at all, but if you do I think its a big no no to have these big substantial stacks with no support..just my opinion. They look cool though for sure Edited December 7, 2013 by 47JDG
rustyoldjunk 127 #28 Posted December 7, 2013 JDG i fully agree with you and its something that i also tell people. I got this tractor with a tall straight pipe and set one of my homemade mufflers on it. It will get bracing before it runs much.

can whlvr 993 #33 Posted January 2, 2014 I like stacks for looks, and I found my kohler seemed to run better with it till I hit it on a tree branch and tore this one right off the tractor, broke the factory elbow in half, was lucky it didn't break yhe block,so for workers no stack, for show or field or NO trees,go for it
