TravelinJavelin 620 #1 Posted November 18, 2013 well since I've joined here and the tractor that's really catching my eye is the gt 14 are the attatchments hard to find for this unit and can they adapt from other other models etc?
KC9KAS 4,744 #2 Posted November 18, 2013 Of all the Wheel Horse tractors, the GT-14 is probably one of the more difficult one to find attachment for because it is a "little different" from the other GT's. Of course any 3 pt hitch items will work, but a tiller has to be specific to the GT-14, and probably a few other attachments.
TravelinJavelin 620 #3 Posted November 18, 2013 I was afraid of that I just like that big rear style of tractor
fourwheels0 191 #4 Posted November 19, 2013 my buddy just sold a 1969 gt14 in great shape,48 inch dozer blade, rebuilt motor ect for $725 no 3 point and the deck needed a bit of work. they really do vary in value. i've seen them go for $100 all the way up to $1200. they are kinda the step child of wheel horses because of the limited availability of implements and that nothing else implement wise interchanges with them. flyovrcntry 115 #6 Posted November 19, 2013 I had a GT14 that was one of the strongest tractors for it's size I have ever owned.I have a neighbor who asked me about it everytime he came around.I sold it to him and he uses it all the time. I don't know what attachments you need, but the dozer blade and bracket are common and readily avail. The bracket and blade I have on my 416-A will bolt right onto it. The tractor is a beast and I never had it to hang up in the snow. The tractor weighs almost 1000 lbs.I had turf tires and 4 link chains and never had to pull it out of anything. My neighbor still has it and I told him if he decides to sell it give me first shot. As far as value, that is predicated by location and availability.Around where I live Wheel Horse was not well marketed so they are not real plentiful. Buy that GT14,it will be the one you measure other tractors by.
bitten 134 #7 Posted November 19, 2013 I have a 69' GT14 and love it. I use it to pull a roller and trailer and have a 48" blade on it. I would like a 3 point for it as that would allow more use out of it. When I first got it I was going to do a restoration and even got the decals but I just like the way it looks with its 44 years of use and couldnt pull myself to do it. As far as prices goes it just depends. I traded an old 22 rifle for mine. Good luck.
Wheel Horse Kid 105 #8 Posted November 19, 2013 Price really depends on condition and what implements come with it. I have kinda seen an average of $250-$600 or so for my area. The hard things to find would be the tiller stuff and other 3 point stuff for just the GT14. I had a GT14 about a month ago and it was a cool tractor, just too far gone for me to work with. TravelinJavelin 620 #9 Posted November 19, 2013 I guess my thought was maybe a snowblower or how hard of a time would it be to put on a front end loader/bucket loader compared to other models? what I like about it is it sort of reminds me of the 440 series case style tractors just like the bigger real wheels and style of it and also how many years was this model made? fourwheels0 191 #10 Posted November 19, 2013 i believe they were made from 1969-1971. some say till 1972 but i'm not sure on that.
jeremi3210 742 #11 Posted November 20, 2013 I have a 69 gt14 with a 16 hp kohler in it. It has a loader and a custom built hard cab. My push blade is set up for hydraulic tilt, and iam building a seperate 3 point hydraulic lift. Anyway they are well built tractors would highly recomend. 953 nut 57,902 #12 Posted November 20, 2013 A GT-14 with a lot of attachments was just listed on ebay with a $750 buy it now price. You would end up paying that much for just the items that come with it. Located in PA and it will be quite a load. Good luck.

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,243 #16 Posted December 1, 2013 i believe they were made from 1969-1971. some say till 1972 but i'm not sure on that. If you look at the Attachment Interchange you will see a 1-0502-8 listed for 1973. I suspect these were models left over from 1972 and this model has shown up here at RS many times. This was when the 6th digit in the model number represented the model year. 8-5=3=1973. The list Recently added the 1971 tractor parts lists to the files. Comparing it to the ipl's Toro had posted for these models it appears they used the 1969 parts list for all years. There are differences which I listed in the notes. I did not compare the standard hardware items. Garry
