leeave96 487 #1 Posted November 17, 2013 I know I've read this somewhere, probably from one of my past posts... But... The Wheelhorse 520H and 520-8 maxes out on HP at 20, but is there a published limit to input HP on these tractor trannys, i.e. 21, 25 or something else? At what HP input does something break every time and what part is it? Also, is the belt even strong/tight enough to transfer enough HP to break anything in the tranny before slipping? Thanks! baerpath 517 #2 Posted November 17, 2013 (edited) Wild Bill used to say 50hp as a max Don't know where he got that number from. I've seen pullers with more hp than that. Our stocker is 43hp and that gets clutch dumps at 4500rpm I'll add the guy's running sled engines twist the input shaft off but then your looking at 70hp and up Edited November 17, 2013 by baerpath
leeave96 487 #3 Posted November 18, 2013 I seem to remember the 50 hp number too. Moderators - if it's OK, I'm going to post a similar post to the pulling section of the forum as those folks jump the hp on their pullers all the time and might have some additional input/experience. Thanks! Bill
