P3x 57 #1 Posted November 16, 2013 Recently purchased a new snow cab (79978) and plan to install it on a 520H for upcoming winter snow removal fun. The asphalt around the threshold heaves a bit after the ground freezes and think I MAY run into height clearance problems between cab roof panel and garage door. I'm running standard size rear tires (23X10.5-12) with chains. Before I spend the time to install it on the 520, can someone with a similar set up give me the approx. height to the top cab panel? If the cab panel is too high to fit in the garage I can install it on the 310. But I'd rather reserve the 310 for plowing duties after reading posts regarding snowthrower effectiveness running on a tractor with less than 12HP. Appreciate all input. p3x

P3x 57 #3 Posted November 16, 2013 Thanks Javelin, My door clearance height is a little over 70" and do not think the heave will add that much. So 520 is it is.

RMCIII 838 #7 Posted November 17, 2013 70 1/4" on the xi. Garage door height, at the rubber seal, 71" Rubber seal rubs the top of the cab when the rear tires ride up over the cement ridge.
MalMac 1,332 #8 Posted November 17, 2013 Remember the newer style cabs sit just a little higher than the older cabs do. Older style being the ones with the fiberglass roof.
