Docwheelhorse 2,660 #1 Posted November 8, 2013 (edited) Hello All, I went to Windham Technical High School tonight for there open house as my son is interested in attending. So I looked through the electrical, automotive, HVAC, Architectural and then came to manufacturing / machining . As I'm walking through I see a plasma table with a sheet of 1/8" plate steel with a whole bunch of emblems and doo dads cut out of it. Then I see the Wheel Horse emblem outline!!! I ask the teacher about it and he said "Oh Denny cut that out for his tractor" . I say tractor??? What tractor???---the teacher says he can't show me but that its a Wheel Horse WITH A TURBO CHARGER the kid fabricated all of the plumbing for and that it runs and the kid was trying to figure out how to get oil to the turbo and back. Long story short I left all my contact info and a note for him to call me and check out Redsquare!!! I will help get the kid anything he needs to finish up his project. It was just plain cool as heck to see and a pic of it is below. The teacher tried to fire up the machine and cut one out for me but the high voltage wouldn't kick in. He was stumped.... maybe I can get Denny to cut one out for me. Tony Edited November 8, 2013 by Docwheelhorse

KC9KAS 4,741 #3 Posted November 8, 2013 That is neat. I would like to have the logo too! I was doing some training at an automotive class at a local high school and they had a CNC plasma cutter. They spelled out my name and cut it out for me. Makes a nice little wall plaque.
squonk 41,016 #4 Posted November 8, 2013 When I was in high school, our auto tech class consisted of the front half of a 65 Ford Falcon that fell off of a transporter. 200 six that ran. Even the radio worked. Teacher would put " bugs " in it and you had to find it. After you found it you got to "bug" it for the next guy. I put a tiny piece of paper in between the points so it wouldn't run. Teacher said I was "evil'.
