roscoemi 245 #29 Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) I just did the front wheel thing on P'Chops Ranger, at some point somebody put pieces of conduit around the spindles to take up slop from lack of grease. I ordered bronze bushings from McMaster Carr, then bored the existing ones in the wheels for a tap fit. When I bolted the wheels back together, I put them on a spindle to keep them lined up. Seems to work fine and the wobble is gone. Edited November 25, 2013 by roscoemi
slammer302 2,155 #30 Posted November 25, 2013 I brought the piece of stainless steel for the patch in the hood to work with me tonight so I can get the 90° break put in it and so I can get it cut into the right shape
slammer302 2,155 #31 Posted November 30, 2013 I got my patch for the hood all cut out and put the bend in it just have to find a welder to use. I'm thinking of just buying a cheap flux core welder so I don't have to run around and use other people's stuff here's what I have though
slammer302 2,155 #32 Posted November 30, 2013 I also have the front wheels done to the bushing were very worn I think their about 1 inch now they alot of play in them and were starting to fall apart
slammer302 2,155 #33 Posted November 30, 2013 I also had a problem that I did not think of when I changed the bushings out with bearings the bushings were made the wheels much wider but I came up with a solution that seems to work well I had two 3/4 inch collars left over from building sub 400 so I put them in first on each side fit perfect did not even have to shim just put snap rings on
