This is stressing me out. Should I drill out the Welch plug? Put a hole n it and pull it out?

If you drill a hole, be careful not to go too deep. Just penetrate it. Punching would probably be safer so as not to get metal fragments.inside the block.

OK. Well if I can't penetrate the plug I guess it won't do me any good. I guess I could try to keep prying it out with a screw driver. Im just lost as to what to do.

I FINALLY got the plug out. What a pain. I don't see anything that would cause to jam? Anything in particular to look for while the plug is out as far as damage goes?

Is there a good way to check to see if everything is alright in there? I took the retaking screw out so I want to make sure everything is in its right place. Also I had to drill a hole in the Welch plug. I tried my best to b clean about it. Do I need to drain the oil?

Sorry, but the pic you posted is poor, so we can't see what we are looking at. As Bob has mentioned the retaining screw is nothing more than to secure the governor adjustment "position" on the outside. Looking into the welch plug, you should be able to see the cross shaft and tab. I would recommend replacing oil prior to firing it up again.

      Hey all!

Replacing the drive belt on my 252-h. Anyone know the torque specification for the center screw when I put this pto clutch back on? I know it was on there tight it took a minute for the impact to break it loose. Thanks!
