The most powerful L&G Battery?

Recommended Posts

sorekiwi

The little 160 CCA battery I have in my diesel 516 isn't cutting it, I need to get something with some more grunt to it.

So far the most powerful L&G sized battery I have found is the Huskee at 420 CCA.  Does anyone know of anything bigger?  (BTW, I want to leave the battery in its standard location, and I'm not interested in running two batteries.)

Thanks!

That's bigger than any I have seen Mike.   I have tried just about all brands and getting one to last five years is a trick now!

I bought a jet ski batt, cranks the twin diesel over pretty good, about 3/4" wider, about 2" narrower, and a 1" taller, cost about $75

Here  is a link to the Huskee I mentioned above.

Seems like its only 350 CCA, a little bit of misleading advertising on this one.  That annoys me enough to deliberately avoid the product.

Thanks Kelly, I'll look into it.

Edit:  Forgot the link!!

Auto Zone has Duralast 425 CA  (340 CCA)  for $62 outright.  I use this in my C-160 and Bronco 14.  They are at least 4 years old now and still going strong.

I have a group 78 pick up truck battery in my Raider just needed to turn it 90 degrees and it hangs over the battery tray a little. But it does power the plow lights, beacon light and winch for plowing.

I use 420 CCA from Tractor Supply or 425 CCA from either Autozone or Advance Auto.

I have found over the years, for my tractors, anything less just doesn't cut it.
