Don1977 604 #51 Posted March 6, 2014 I would remove the engine, battery, gas tank, transmission and give it a good cleaning before welding on the frame just to be safe.
PMaine 31 #52 Posted March 7, 2014 What is the rough shipping cost? I am in Maine.
n1defan 47 #53 Posted March 8, 2014 What is the rough shipping cost? I am in Maine. For most of my hitches shipping has been a flat $20.00 as long as its not going west. I pulled a random zip from Maine and I can get it to you for the $20.00 price. Thanks Tom
DotheDoo 15 #54 Posted April 10, 2014 (edited) I wish I came across this a week ago. I just received my receiver for my 312-8 from another place but yours looks correct as to how the support works but.... Now that mine is installed, the issue I have is now the bagger bracket will not fit correctly on the bottom. The receiver is out of the way for the top bracket to sit correctly but the bagger bracket has 2 "U-shaped" supports that sit on the support that hold the lower hitch. Does your receiver have a work around that area? I'll take pictures tonight and post them. The receiver will be moving a 500 lbs log splitter. and it would be nice to move my 7x12 utility trailer but I think the current receiver is not up to the task. Thanks p.s. Found a picture of the identical receiver installed. The bagger arms hit the lower part of the receivers cross memeber. HorseFixer 2,013 #56 Posted April 11, 2014 Today I used the 518xi with the 2" hitch to move my three wheeled Cub Cadet. The new owner is picking it up next weekend (I hope.) He took the missing wheel this past summer to repair a flat but hasn't come back since! I thought it justified getting a HF Pickup Crane. The crane is jury-rigged for now but shows the versatility of the hitch. Go Bears! John, I have looked at this thread a couple of times and somehow missed this. Great Idea! you have just contributed to further my delinquency and gave me some Ideas for a future project (like I need anymore). ~Duke
