SteveGo 0 #1 Posted October 2, 2013 My mother, 88 years old, has a 1974 C160 8 Speed, with a full complement of accessories. It has been sitting in a shed, in need of repairs for the last 6 or 7 years. I believe it needs some pulleys replaced, not counting any engine clean-up from just sitting around. As we are trying to simplify her life somewhat, I was looking for some advice or resources on the best disposition of this tractor. It would be great to find someone who loves these machines, to give it a good home. For us, fixing it up is not a realistic option. Thanks in advance for your help. Steve We are in the North Texas area.
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,330 #2 Posted October 2, 2013 Welcome to the site! If you are looking to sell your tractor, you will need to open up a listing in the classified section.

boovuc 1,090 #4 Posted October 2, 2013 If you have a friend, neighbor or aquantance that is fairly handy, I would have this person look at the tractor and try to determine what the cause was to put it away. As you stated, it will most likely need some tweeking to get the motor to run. The fact it was in a shed is a VERY good thing. If you can diagnose the issue(s) and if you can make it run, a few pictures of it and a posted classified add on this site should give it a good home and some money in the family budget. (And room in the shed). You also posted there are some implements. Those implements, depending on what they are, are sometimes worth more than the tractor. Plows, graders, tillers, loaders and snow blowers are sought after so post these in the classified section as well unless you just want it gone and it makes sense to offer a package deal. Good Luck to you!

whc160 74 #6 Posted October 5, 2013 Hey Guys. Matt (I can't think of his RS name) was wanting a C-160 but could not find one near him in his home State of Texas. Does anyone know how to get in touch with him? Matt's screen name is bowtiebutler956 . He would be glad to here about a C-160 in his part of the country. He is always giving me a hard time about all of the C-160's being up here in the northeast. And he will give it a good home. He is located in Harlingen TX. Not sure how close he is to you. Sent him a PM and I am sure he will respond.

Wheel-N-It 2,968 #14 Posted October 20, 2013 Matt, I am very excited for you! This is an example of where the internet is a very useful tool. In this case, it was used as an outreach to help another person here. Matt, you and I became members of RS with two weeks of each other, and you have wanted a C160 the whole time we've been here. WHC160 you've got a part in this too. You got here ahead of me as a member by about three weeks. Its really cool how we worked together to help Matt. Matt, I know you will be posting pics as soon as the C160 is in your posession and I look forward to seeing them. Hopefully I'll get to throw a leg over it one day and take it for a ride. Part of my retirement plan is to sell out here and move to Texas. We're looking at about six years for the wheel on that idea to begin turning. Van
