TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #2 Posted August 26, 2008 Looks like a possible 1960 400 Suburban to me..... And this cutting off the back of the hood crap is really getting to me lately....... I wish a certain part of the "cutter's" anatomy would get cut off to match the hood! :USA:

stevinator 1 #9 Posted August 26, 2008 I imagine most were too lazy to take the steering wheel off and on to work on the engine along with a few bolts. :banghead:
linen beige 14 #10 Posted August 26, 2008 Good catch! Front axle says '60 400 or 550; or '61 401 or 551. Tranny and hood stand says it's not a 551. Foot rests say '60 which would eliminate the 401. If it has not had a solenoid and battery mounted in the toolbox it is a '60 400. And it also looks like it has one of the seats without holes in it. i've seen some suggestions that these are not Wheel Horse seats. My '60 400 has had one of these no hole seats since it was new, and I've seen quiet a few others.
BPjunk 184 #11 Posted August 26, 2008 Brian, The 50 buck Suburban is a 1960 model 400 AND the model 753 is a Super Nice Find! You can tell the tractor is a 1960 year model because of the stamted steel clutch pedal and with no signs of electrical wiring the tractor is a 400. Any time you find a old round hood that still has the seat cover ...... Ya' done good! Wild Bill in Richmond, Va.
