shallowwatersailor 3,213 #2 Posted September 9, 2013 It is a bit of work. Reminds me of when I had an '83 Honda Accord and had to pull an engine mount to change a belt! The Toro 260-series Repair Manual pp. 3-6 to 3-12 does have a 26 step procedure with nice clear photos, but you need to disassemble some of the tractor and work underneath to install it. The job does appear do-able by the average owner with tools though. GOOD LUCK!
CTBT&D 77 #3 Posted September 15, 2013 I replaced the belt on a 1993 266H, about 3 hours without a manual. Craig
Whmaverick 54 #4 Posted September 29, 2013 I changed drive belt on a 98 265-6speed and it was 3 hrs of torture. Gotta prop the tractor up so you can lay under it, drop the peddles and steering mech. And after cussing toro a bunch, I was almost done, No help from manuals just blundered through it and hope to never do another one. Good luck and may the wrench gods be with you.
