rj 35 questions

Recommended Posts

qd-16

I'm working on an rj35 that I picked up a couple yrs. ago and I had a few questions:

I am missing the tension spring that goes here p/n 1129.  I'm going to try to match one up and need

to know approx. how long this spring should be??

I was also wondering what this bracket with the hole is??

The last thing I need to know is about the belt that goes from the vari pulley to the jack-shaft pulley under the seat....My rj35 has the 6" pulley so what

belt length do I need?   Thanks for any info!  Al.

I believe I got this from the tractor drive belt charts.

Wheel Horse 1556 nla {4Lx20"} Tractor drive belt (RJ-35 with 6", 6-1/2", 7" jackshaft pulley)

Wheel Horse 1564 nla {4Lx18.9"} Used with 1556 belt tractor drive belt (RJ-35 with 6" jackshaft pulley) This length looks wrong and should be approximately 35"?

Wheel Horse 1553 nla {4L/Ax36"} Used with 1556 belt tractor drive belt (RJ-35 with 6-1/2" jackshaft pulley)

Wheel Horse 1552 nla {4Lx37"} Used with 1556 belt tractor drive belt (RJ-35 with 7" jackshaft pulley)

That's my YouTube Channel, I truely appreciate your comment!

As of the spring I just go down to my local hardware store and match it up as close as I can find. So long as the tension seems to be close the very drive system will work as it should. Fine tuning the drive is all through the belt/veri drive pully adjuster. I personally like to remove the reveres disc and adjust the belt system so when you pull the speed selector all the way back the drive goes into full nutral instead of engaging the reverse. It just feels safer to me.

The braket on your hood stand is an add on as stated above.
