BOWTIE 226 #1 Posted September 7, 2013 Went to a estate auction to today in the northeast PORT WASHINGTON,OHIO. It was a 1998 312-8 with 42" deck 467 hours. The tractor was very nice 9.5 out of 10 it had the OHV Kohler 12.5hp motor. I bid $800 then $850 and I stopped it sold for $1650. Somebody really wanted it. The tractor had beautiful original red paint, black paint on the front of the was still nice and not rubbed off. The tractor was garage kept and waxed often. The deck was mint with scars and spindle housing looked great. Here are the 3 pictures the auction site had listed, they gave it a bath it looked like new today. Maybe somebody from Redsquare got it, if so they got a good one. BOWTIE IN CENTRAL OHIO
953 nut 55,044 #2 Posted September 7, 2013 Considering the low hours and condition it seems to be priced right if you needed a worker, but most of us have more than enough good workers don't we.

leeave96 487 #4 Posted September 7, 2013 (edited) Nice looking tractor. I would almost bet that those ag tires were pre-mounted vs swapping out the original turf tires when the tractor was new/bought. Toro use to sell rims with those type ags on them. I bought a set from a dealer one time for a pretty good deal as they were trying to get rid of them. Nice thing is - when the rims and tires come factory mounted, they seem to hold air much longer than swapping a tire onto an old rim. I've thought it was due to a super clean rim/tire bead. RMCIII 838 #5 Posted September 7, 2013 Still, considering what they paid, I'd say that whoever got it knew at that price it will still last longer than a new one from Home-Cheap-O or Lowes
DoctorHfuhruhurr 137 #7 Posted September 8, 2013 For that price I would have just bought a 520-H in really good shape.
Wheel-N-It 2,968 #8 Posted September 8, 2013 Sometimes it seems like the prices of Wheel Horses are all over the place. Some people get really lucky and buy a Wheel Horse with 3hours on it for $75 dollars but that not the norm. We all know what these tractors are, and what they are capable of. So to me $1650 is realistically not a bad price for a machine that can be used over and over (virtually trouble free) for multiple task for the next 20 years. I would not sell my 312-8 (with 565 hours on it) for $1650.

Only paid $1,650.00 and would not sell the entire package over for less than $4K.
RMCIII 838 #10 Posted September 11, 2013 For that price I would have just bought a 520-H in really good shape. Just an observation here, but I still say whoever got it, did ok considering this: http://www.tractorhouse.com/list/list.aspx?ETID=1&catid=1170&Manu=WHEELHORSE Granted, they are always going to look for a premium. Still considering the condition and shape, it may have sold for more than that in this listing.
