Picked up a new one today: 314-8

There was an auction near my inlaw's place where a family was selling all of their farm equipment. I talked with the owner, and he said he had purchased it from the 1st owner and that the mower has spent it's whole life locally and was always serviced at the place where it was originally sold. The 42" deck looks awesome. He gave me the manual and reciepts going back to 1999. I am not sure what year it is, anyone know?

The model number is: 73400

Serial number 5902150

M14s Serial number:

Spec:601559

Serial number: 2515906393

Not sure what I am going to do with it yet. Paid $550 + 10% auction fee.

Serial number 5902150 the 59 makes it a 95 314-8 and that's a real nice looking  one and for that price you all most stole it how many hours are on it

Thanks for the complements. I am pretty excited about it! I went outside and tested the headlights. The C100 I bought a few weeks ago was my first horse, but this is the first one that I have purchased that runs. Made the mistake of leaving the parking break on.

IMHO, you just bought one of the best garden tractors Wheelhorse ever made.  Plenty of power for the 42 inch deck.  You should have the very strong 8 pinion rear end and rear 1-1/8 inch axles.  Further, your 14 hp engine is the Kohler Magnum, which not only is all cast iron like the K series engines, but has electronic iginition - no points, etc to deal with.

I would also note that of the hood decals with the Toro logo on them, the decals you have - have much bigger Wheelhorse letters/name, which IMHO, are the best looking Toro/Wheelhorse logos.

Were I you - I'd make that a lifetime keeper!

Good luck,

Bill

BOWTIE

That's a nice 1995 tractor for $600. I don't the hours it has on it I would guess 300-400. Here in Ohio it would bring $1500 or so. NICE SCORE

Wow!  leeave96 said it right, all, can't say more.

Nice price, great Horse! Kohler Magnum to boot! I'm sure you'll suffer, better ship the Stallion East!  :ychain:

PS. Bill made one mistake, "Good Luck." You won't need it with your new Horse. Wow, really nice!

Nice... I bought a 1995 314-8 s/n 5901838 about a year ago for $500 locally on clist. So, my s/n is only about 300 from yours. I've been mowing my lawn with it every week this year. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. It is definitely one mighty fine garden tractor.

Thanks again for the comments guys. I am pretty pleased with it, as it has been well taken care of. It has 994 hours on it but it doesn't show it. I really like that I got the manuals for the deck and the tractor with it. I didn't realize how popular the 314 was.

Jay,

As far as the C100 goes, I think I am going to hang on to it for a little while. I have been getting some parts for it here and there. I got the carb rebuilt but have not taken the time to get it running yet. As far as riding your 310-8 goes, I did enjoy that! That was my first experience riding one of these and so it was neat to get a feel for it. I also had a good phone conversation with Van that got me thinking about the newer tractors. So when the 314-8 popped up for sale, I figured I would try to get it for a good price, use it until I got the C100 working/dependable, and then make a decision about which one I would keep.
