Cutlas3391 776 #10 Posted August 28, 2013 Here's a good question for you tire guys what's a good tire that looks like an ag lug tire that won't tear up the lawn? I seen a tractor with the lug tire look on a cub cadet the lug was only 1/2 tall so it ride like a turf tire according to the tractor owner. He also said it doesn't tear up the lawn. Of course I forgot to look and ask who made the tire.

Digger 66 3,478 #14 Posted August 28, 2013 Thanks for the positive feedback guys . Only thing is the fronts are "tube-type" , I figured they were tubeless . had the website stated this , I would have bought the tubes . Any of you fellas found a tube for the rib style fronts ( or does it even matter ) ? I called the TSC nearby but the girl didn't seem too bright .

Only thing is the fronts are "tube-type" , I figured they were tubeless . had the website stated this , I would have bought the tubes . Any of you fellas found a tube for the rib style fronts ( or does it even matter ) ? I called the TSC nearby but the girl didn't seem too bright . My local TSC had plenty of the correct size tubes in stock, I think alot of wheelbarrows use the size. When I ordered my 4x8s GCT only had 1 tube, or so the cart said? Sarge 3,463 #20 Posted August 29, 2013 I've used bar style ag tires for years without any damage to the lawn - less wheel spinning when turning around results in less damage . I even run chains on mine and it leaves no marks whatsoever . Turf tires spin too easily and cause way more damage than any lug tire ever will , unless you get wild and try to spin those , then you have holes . AMC RULES 37,127 #21 Posted August 29, 2013 What brand, are those Carlisle rears?
Digger 66 3,478 #22 Posted August 31, 2013 Got the fronts (almost) done . The guy who put them on for me chewed the edges all up on his tire machine . I swear he could mess up a bologna sandwich. The PTO side tire ( center rib only ) rubs the Idler pulley when turned to the right , but nothing a small modification won't take care of . The last pic is the rears all blasted & waiting for their second coat . Man , I can hardly wait 'till next Sat to try these out ( with the new throttle shaft too ! )
