Ride Away59 102 #27 Posted August 22, 2013 The tractor is no longer at that garage. I can't take pictures of tractor that aren't mine without the owners permission.
LFDRET 21 #28 Posted August 22, 2013 I pasted a table above that did not show the items in a column the way I wanted. the 1st description under each heading is that of a early RJ, the 2nd is what most and later 1955 RJ's had and the 3rd is what I have on my 1955 RJ and what I see on yours from some of the Pic's. So from what I can tell is that you have a very early 55 RJ. alot of the aluminum steering wheels broke and were replace with the cast iron wheels.

stevebo-(Moderator) 8,330 #31 Posted March 20, 2014 I love the progress !! That is exactly what you should be doing with that tractor. Keep it original, paint the wheels and tires and get it mechanically correct. I still want to buy it !!!!!!!!!!!! lol Are you going to bring that to the meet and greet at my place on April 26th??? Ride Away59 102 #32 Posted March 20, 2014 Thanks Steve! I didnt even know you were having a meet and greet lol! I'm not sure if it will be done. I hope it gets done sooner than later. I can't wait to ride it!!
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,330 #33 Posted March 20, 2014 I have to be honest you may be disappointed at how it rides. A few words come to mind for me when I drive mine... slow, terrible steering as it will "push" when you turn it and unless you have the brake kit only drive on level ground or on a light incline... but they really are cool!!
Ride Away59 102 #34 Posted March 20, 2014 Yeah I know its a slow ride. I always ride my brother's 57. I'm pretty lucky I have a original brake kit that came with the tractor.

I think its a "operator" issue more than anything else. Looking good Al!
