chris11 184 #8 Posted October 12, 2013 Duane , this is what I do with headers at work. Take a prick punch go around the flange every 1/4 inch so the metal has little bumps now get the high temp silicone. 1/8 bead ONLY let it cure for 5 mins then bolt up header tight. The prick punch will hold it away from head and header for silicone to stay in. I never use header gaskets again. also earls makes a lead Teflon gaskets with aluminum ring around them . maybe the make some for that engine.
baerpath 517 #9 Posted October 30, 2013 We took it apart again. Were remaking the header. To much pressure have to enlarge the tubes and the flanges will be 1/2 inch stainless. Also the intake will be changed over and enlarged so both in and out will be one piece Gonna also try a larger turbo from a Ford 7000 Just for the heck of it
