3118KEDI

Check number... not sure if first digit is correct, but if it is, it might look more like this   31-18KE01

Note that the second to last digit is probably a ZERO, not the letter D.

That part number tells me your machine should be a KOHLER with an EATON tranny.

Are you sure the engine is an Onan and not a Kohler Magnum 18HP twin?  If it is, then it's been swapped at some point in it's life.

Did you look in the 'manuals' section here on RS ?

I do not have the engine tin. to tell the make. The guy I bought the 418 from said it was a Onan.. which is apart in a box. Everything alum. except  the jugs

Any series of the tammy?

thanks

I checked the manual section

This might be a good reason to not license Lawn Mowers here:

Is there any way to tell what make without the tin?

Yeah, the "K" in the model number says Kohler.  That number says it's a 1987 418-A .

I dunno... maybe look at all the parts and see if you can find some part numbers?  Should be able to find the Magnum 18 manuals at the Kohler website, might be some pics you can compare parts you have?

Why not head on over to the manuals section and see if you can track down what you need?

This is the page that comes up if you go up to the top and click on the "MANUALS" link in the bar across the top of page:

http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/

You know the year and model number of your machine now...

Or, click on that link to Jack's Small Engines that I posted in #2 and look up any part ya want?

or rcpw.com or partstree.com or even toro.com ... there's any number of sites that sell parts and have illustrated parts lists.

The original engine for the tractor model number 31-18KE01 is listed as being M18QS-24510

If you go to http://www.partstree.com/parts/

and type Kohler in the 2nd box and M18-24510 in the 3rd box the illustrated parts lists will come up.
