pinecone 26 #1 Posted August 7, 2013 found this posted on CL in an odd spot. looked at it today. an hour road trip. took some photos, no one home yet. over my head here , so my gift to anyone. no trany oil on dipstick, no fuel in tank, for the life of me i could not find any oil dipstick. there was a large bolt inserted where i would expect it. that alone shows my knowledge. hope the photos work and the guy gave me phone permission to show his number. $125 for tractor, deck and blower. deck looked the best. no major rust anywhere just dull paint. parts seems to be there in the bag for the mule drive. warwick, ny. hmm, seems to only take 1 photo. file to large for the rest. will email if any interest. Kelly 1,029 #2 Posted August 7, 2013 Engine oil might be checked with a square headed plug on the rear of the engine it has a dip stick attached to the bottom of it, for $125 that is a pretty fair deal, if near me I would offer $100 and probably be bringing it home. pinecone 26 #3 Posted August 8, 2013 more, photos seem to look better than real life. nothing like replying to myself.
Sparky-(Admin) 21,300 #4 Posted August 8, 2013 Yep, thats a good deal. I see the engine oil dipstick right where it should be. It was a lousy design where you needed a wrench to get it out for an oil check. I wonder how many motors were run low on oil by owners that couldn't be bothered to find the tool to get the dipstick out. At that price I dont think it will be for sale for very long. If it wasn't in NY I would be after it myself. Mike......

Kelly 1,029 #10 Posted August 8, 2013 The more pics you show, the cleaner it looks, if you look past the patina it has, even has the logo seat still, not all greasy does not look cleaned up, not beat up, I bet with a little work it would be a good tractor if it runs good, but for the price you could swap engines. 47JDG 65 #11 Posted August 8, 2013 That's a steal at $125 for everything. If that is all he is asking you probably could get it for $100. There are plenty of guys on this site that would offer him $75 and then once running, sell it all for $300+

groundhog47 347 #14 Posted August 8, 2013 I'd think that'd be a fair price with a bit off for mid hitch and other missing parts. May be that all the battery ign Kohlers have coil mounted that way, that's very interesting, and the aboves are correct that big square head plug to rear of engine is "dip stick/oil plug", like on the K241 I'm ?working? on! Oh, I see the mid hitch on top of mower now !
47JDG 65 #15 Posted August 8, 2013 Considering the snow blower would sell for that price relatively easily if its as good as it looks in these pictures you can't lose If the mowing deck is real nice its worth his asking price also. You said the mowing deck looked the best of everything in your first post. You could separate the tractor, deck, and snowblower and sell them for $100 each most likely. Like I said above, running well this setup is easily worth over $300 all together, and if not..still worth that much if you start to separate it. I wouldn't hymn and haw over this for too long. I am surprised it was still there when you got there to take these pictures..lol
