hi guys i was hoping you could help me with my case, the problem is that i have a 4speed unidrive with a left case from a 5058 transmission and the right case from a 5053 stransmission. is it wise to keep these case's and bold em together again when i have the new bearings and seals? question 2, i have 2 different rear axles, one with key and one without, how and why would this be?

thanks in advance

p.s. i'll post some pics when i figure out how to

The 5053 and the 5058 transmissions are both 4 speeds.  The case halves have different Wheel Horse part numbers, there fore I am inclined to think that they may not be compatible.   The 5053 has a differential that has the axle gear and 4 pinions.  The 5058 has the beefed up differential with the bevel gear.  It may work to bolt them together if you have the regular axle gears and the 4 pinion differential...I am not sure...but worth looking at.  Everything else should be the same...it is about the differential.  The 2 different axles that you have should not be a problem.  Wheel Horse started out using the roll pin to keep the axle gear in place and then changed to a "C" clip on the end of the axle.  I am thinking that one of each in the differential should work and not be a problem.  The case halves should line up to bolt together...I think I would try to put it together, and see what shakes.  If you are not comfortable with something in there when you put it together...tell us in this thread.  You would just need one of the other halves of a trans...depending on what trans differential you are trying to use.  Hope that makes since.  Post any questions here. :)   The bearings and seal are the same for both.

Those pictures are of the hub end of the axle...thought you had an issue with the other ends.??   The key way is worn and the axle looks like it is worn also...what is the question you have with the axles? :eusa-think:

:eusa-think: ...one axle has a key way and one don't??? by the one pic it has been filled and ground down...which is bad news....the other key way is shot!....either gonna need a set of axles or have keys ways cut into those...I have spare axles on hand but you wouldn't like the price to ship them to ya...
