Martin 2,133 #2 Posted August 1, 2013 (edited) simple search (google) came up with a post from sparky on model/spec numbers.... heres 3 with your spec number R1-16O802 1990 316-8 Garden Tractor 8 Speed Onan P216G-I/10976C 31-16O802 1990 416-8 Garden Tractor 8 Speed Onan P216G-I/10976C 41-16OE01 1990 416-H Garden Tractor Automatic Onan P216G-I/10976C thread is here..... should be able to determine the year by using the serial number and comparing it to others close that know what year they are. more google searching with close numbers should get you there...... maybe somebody with models that use the same engine could post there serial numbers and year to get you close. Martin 2,133 #3 Posted August 1, 2013 just found this........... http://www.smokstak.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36264 so if we use the guide in the first line your serial number decodes as f893564666 MYYxxxxxx f= June 89= 1989 Onan serial numbers include a build date (MMYYxxxxxxx)as the first 3 or 4 numerals or in some cases a letter for the month (A=Jan, B=Feb etc)and then 2 digits for the year (MYYxxxxxx). Martin 2,133 #4 Posted August 1, 2013 (edited) now if you go back to the list from sparkys post, only 1990 and 1991 models had the C at the end of the spec number...... the engine was made in 1989 and it was installed in a 1990 or 1991 tractor...... the last 6 digits ( 564666) would narrow it down further.... boomers_influence 106 #6 Posted April 11, 2017 6bg6ga the B 43E is listed as a STOCK engine, 16 H.P. ( not made for a specific application ) it has a 45BB crank 1 1/8" dia. I am searching for a Onan engine rebuilt kit for 20 Hp seriel Number 6883 476680 220G 10541B Rods 0.10 or 0.20 under size. pistons 0.10 under. oem gasket sets. whom would you recommend as a good parts wear house.
