stevasaurus 22,872 #2 Posted July 28, 2013 (edited) No...a six speed is an eight speed. They just called them six speeds when they first went to the hi/lo for a few years. The three speeds and four speeds are pretty much the same thing. They just started counting reverse as one of the gears.
