New guy on the forum

Hello everyone

I just joined the forum after cutting a deal on a 310-8. After having a Craftsman tractor for many years, I just wanted something better. I should be picking it up next weekend and will post some pics once I get it home. The tractor is in pretty nice shape and I was told by the widow and friends/neighbors that the previous owner really cared for the tractor. It started right up after a few years of sitting - no smoke and sounded good, pto engaged fine, trans worked good, etc .Looks like it just needs a battery. Has a 42 inch rear discharge deck. Also comes with a snowblower and cab, wheel weights and summer and winter tires and wheels. Looking foward to getting it home and giving it a good once over, and start using it. Some quick research tells me it's a K series engine, I believe. I'm sure I'll have some questions and I'm sure I've found the right place for them. Now I've got a real tractor.  :)

Thanks in advance.

Tim

Thanks for the welcomes guys.

Jake I looked at your site - I really like those 401's.

I may have stumbled into another addiction here. My wife will be sooo... happy.

Building wooden boats is the most current addiction - or maybe it's tractors now.

Really I just want a good machine to cut grass and do snow and haul wood sometimes, but these things have a way of blossoming sometimes - we'll see...

Well, I picked up my tractor today. A friend loaned me his snowmobile trailer. Worked perfectly. Home safe and sound. I unloaded it, pumped up the tires and cut the grass - everything worked fine. The motor sounds great and does not smoke at all. The deck sounds good as well. There is a little bit of rust that I'll have to take care of but I got a turn key tractor with a 42" rear discharge deck, snowblower, turf and snow tires & wheels, weights, and a cab for $600. I feel like I got a good deal. The deck and the snowblower look really good too - no rust or damage.

Here's a couple pics to prove it happened - 9419957426_d009326eff_z.jpg
