This is just a wild guess on my part, cuz I'm no mind reader, but it might have to do with the title of that thread. "Decided to sell my 1998 314-8", makes a statement of intent to sell, which would place it in the "classified" category.  If you had worded that another way, such as, "Need an Opinion", the discussion might have been allowed to continue. As I said, just a guess, but there have probably been hundreds of treads about thoughts on the value of a tractor.

I think it started off as a question of value, then people became interested and it started to become a classified where people were wanting the tractor and asking questions about it. Craig's right, just let it go. Just sell the tractor at what you are happy with and if you need to lower your price, then lower it. Sparky (The mod who closed your thread) was only trying to do his job and do what is best for the forum. Just my .

Yup, Taylor has it right.  Perhaps the intent wasn't to sell in a post, but it sure ended up that way so it was locked.  But I do question your use of shouting and multiple question marks in this post.

If you are unsatisfied with the job that our wonderful mods are doing then I'm sure no one is forcing you to be on here. Thy are just doing what they feel is best. Sure looked like a classified to me...
