Digger 66 3,488 #1 Posted July 21, 2013 (edited) Tearing into the trans /diff lube change on my Raider 10 & have a few ?'s 1) the diff / trans seems to be one casting so should I assume they " share " lubricant ? 2) From the rear , there is a drain at the bottom , a couple inches up on the clutch / brake side there is what appears to be a level check / fill boss with plug 3) there is a fill under the seat with a dipstick . Which one is the level check ? Also is any GL-5 lube OK to use ? Fill & check here ? or .... Here ? Is this lube OK ?? Thanks for any info , folks . -Gene Edited July 21, 2013 by Digger
stevasaurus 22,872 #2 Posted July 21, 2013 Yes, the differential is in the trans case with the rest of the gears. I would use the dip stick...but it should be the same level as the side check level plug. Yes, that oil is OK to use.

woodbird007 16 #4 Posted August 1, 2013 Piggyback question. If you switch to synthetic trans lube do you have to be extra fussy about flushing out the transmission case. If so, with what? Thanks
