C-105 Drive Belt Diagram or Photo

 Does anyone have a C-105 drive belt diagram or photo?  The transmission drive belt keeps breaking and I haven't been able to figure out why.  Tried oem belts and others with same results.  Suggestions appreciated.

I doubt the belts are breaking. They are more apt to be cut for some reason. Is there a stone jambed in a pulley V-groove? The L-shaped belt keeper that is part of the idler pulley arm should not contact the back of the belt through the full clutch travel. The idler V-pulley should have a 4" outside diameter. Make sure the idler pulley bearings are in good shape and not trying to lock up at times. Bearings usually get tight before they get loose.

Gary,  Thanks for your response and photo.  Both are grately appreciated . 

 

I removed the covers and installed a new OEM belt and found that with the clutch pedal pushed all the way down that the drive belt would continue to run even though there was little pressure on the idler pulley?  The only way to stop the drive belt from running was to adjust the clutch so that when engaged the L-bracket of the idler pulley would contact with the top of the belt which pushes the belt  against the top of the belt guide bracket mounted just in front of and toward the top of the frame.?  This did not seem to be normal so I decided to leave the covers off until I did more research. 

 

Was wondering if I should sand the roughness off of the v surfaces of the engine drive pulley to allow the belt to slip more easily when the clutch pedal is depressed?  The tractor has been setting outside under cover, unused for some time.  

 

Any thoughts?

Sand the pulley grooves smooth so the roughness does not wear the belt. If you think about it the belt is constantly sliding into and out of the groove.

 

The belt guard must be installed for the belt to slip on the engine pulley. The bottom lip of the guard supports the belt slack because of the loss of tension and this forces just enough belt forward to the engine pulley.

 

There is an older service manual that has bits and pieces that apply to many models. Good information

Usually the clutch and brake pedal adjustments are made to accommodate the length of the operator's legs.

What type of belt is this? I just  inherited this and I am having problems trying to find the right one any help would  be greatly appreciated

I  believe it's a 1981 wheel horse c105
