Hi Terry,

Wow, you have been bitten. It sure is a great hobby isn't it quite addicting. By the way the 520-8 decals are great and now I need a set for a 520-h. Huh I guess it is addicting. By the way do you have any C-195 decals I am in need of some .

Well take care

Mike

Thanks Mike

terry put volt meter on the - side of the coil and on the negative side of battery and slowly spin the motor over by hand. the voltage should drop from 12 down to 1 volt or so, look up the onan manual service manual and it will give you step by step instructions on how to do it. but it sounds like the ignition module bit the dust. good luck with them looks like a good set of twins even if they are not identical twins.

The throttle falling from full to 3/4 is an easy fix. The rivet that holds the throttle lever together gets loose. I take the cable/lever out of the tractor and peen the rivet, good as new!

Thanks Eric

I will do that as soon as I get caught up in the shop. Is a module difficult to find and reinstall?

I am going to get the numbers off of the motor and we have a small toro dealer in town.

Thanks for the help. Hope to get it running soon.

been a little quiet on this one, but the 416H found a new home at my place last week!!!!

thanks a bunch, terry......

going through a bunch of electrical gremlins right now, but i am hoping we will have a runner in the not too distant future. will do a thread on my troubles.....

if the engine and hydro work out to be ok, i think this will be a nice tractor with some tlc......

got it running. coil was the culprit. runs ok, carb needs some cleaning, everything works great, engine mechanically nice and quiet, no smoke, no bad noises, hydro needs adjusting on the motion control but is strong, no leaks other than axle seals. seems like a nice tractor and representative mechanically of its working 557 hour meter........

will do a thread on my coil retrofit and subsequent electrical/mechanical fixings......
