Newbie Checkin' In!

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to say hi!  My name is Jim and figured I would start off here.  I have always been an IH Cub Cadet fan but have always enjoyed wheel horses (from the little i knew about them).  Quite a few friends have some very nicely restored garage queens my favorite being a 653 with some gnarly tires.  Friend of mine just got a raider 10 and thats when i got bit by the bug.  Seems to have a great site here and i look forward to learning more about these premium grade tractors.  One question i will ask  though is  how do you keep track of all the different models - it seems every time i look there is another model added to the line up lol

Thanks!

Jim

Yep, there does seem like a whole lot of models but most of them are similar thru the years with only minor changes year by year.

953 nut

:WRS:    The model list can look a bit intimidating, but for the 1962 to 1967 models it is all in the numbers. The 653 that your buddy has is a six hp 5 electric start 3 built in 1963. A 1055 is ten hp electric start built in 1965. Now you can tell at a glance on the older square hooded :wh: . :text-lol:                                                         :USA:

this def helps out alot!   By the way, while we are on the topics of wheel horses, a friend of a friend had an wheel horse, newer model (maybe from 90's?).  It was a twin cyl, had a chrome aircleaner, chrome muffler guard and was a decent sized lawn tractor.  Any ideas what model it could have been?

Thanks ,

Jim

Look like this one?

I honestly think it was bigger maybe? I know it had a big deck on it and I think arm rests on the seat however it did look like that yes..but I think larger.

P.s. I remember it had a horsepower or torque gauge on it
