Heavy duty front spindle kits

Recommended Posts

Anyone recall what the axle diameter was on the HD front spindle kits for the C-Series and later models? They used a 107124 flanged wheel bearing so guessing it was not 3/4".

The ones I've seen were all 3/4"

The kit had HD 3/4 spindles and heavy front rims(wider) and HD bearings

Everything was 3/4 with the rims having a more HD bearing in them. A few years ago they offered the kit which also included tires. It was a really good deal. A lot of people caught on to this kit and Toro sold a bunch of them. I got 3 myself. I don't think the kit is offered anymore. Not sure about the individual parts.

What strengthens the spindles??  Is there bracing at the angle?  What can be done to the regular spindles to make them HD?

On the spindles themselfs, there is just some bracing on the bend to help keep it from bending. Now the rim is still the 3/4 ID on the bearing but the bearing is a bigger more HD bearing to accept the extra load of the loader.

Take a look at this and see why I asked about front axle diameter for 107124 heavy duty wheel bearings.

What tractor was this 1987 kit designed for?

I have never seen that kit before, To me some of the parts in there have nothing to do with making a tractor more HD. If I get the chance today I will take some pic's of the HD spindle kit that was offered for FEL use.

+1

I remember back in the early days of the yahoo forum, several folks over there were getting the HD spindle/wheel kit.  It was a very popular kit at the time.  Not sure why I never pulled the trigger on one.
