boovuc 1,090 #1 Posted July 1, 2013 I'll be laying hands on a 312-A soon and it is minus the hydro pump. For you guys that have had the 700's, if the pump was removed would you be betting on: A. It was bad and they took it off and never replaced it then got rid of the tractor? B. The pump was good and the transaxle was bad and then they got rid of the tractor? C. Chances are both the pump and the transaxle were bad so they got rid of the tractor? D. I don't gamble and quit bothering me! PS......though it was garaged the pump opening was left exposed and it is dirty. Issues!?? I'm getting it for the good K Series motor but was wondering if it was worth saving as a whole. (Plus it has a shiny air cleaner, muffler and cheesy hub caps)! Thanks,
ericj 1,578 #2 Posted July 1, 2013 chance are if they pulled the pump it was junk know how much problems they gave. i just picked up a 518-H with a good eaton 700 in it that i would consider selling you can come and drive it around and check it out if you like before we pull it out. i'm only considering selling because i don't like the fact you can't push the darn thing around and i have a 1100 i can put in it. pm me if interested eric j
baerpath 517 #3 Posted July 1, 2013 Chances are the trans is fine, I just parted a 312A that I bought at the show. The axles and 8 pinion were fine I don't think there would be anything wrong in the bottom half of yours. Mine had water in the plastic tank and in the pump (flood tractor) so I wasn't thinking of saving it whole anyway
sorekiwi 761 #4 Posted July 2, 2013 Don't forget the 312A has the fancy louvered hood as well!!
