Once again I climb the mountain to speak to the Wheelhorse wise ones that live there. Thanks to Gerry and TomB for helping-but I need enlightenment. I have looked at the Toro site at the manuals-and I have looked at the "tractor"- sumpin ain't right!  The books show a PTO lever on the left of the machine activating a weird sandwich of pulleys to activate the deck, and a regular idler pulley for the main drive.-WELL- the tractor doesnt have that-no lever on the left-just one on the right for gear selection- with a little decal saying "mower disengage & engage" This corresponds to the location of a lever that sticks up frim the deck-that operates a double idler to start the blades. The tractor does have an idler pulley for drive-operated by a foot pedal up front. BUT-I see no height adjust ment for the deck-just sliding wheels that can be slid up out of the way after mowing. Am I right-no height adjustment? And whats up with the non-existent sandwich pulley PTO? Thanks for any help-Al

Thanks Jay- Now at least I know I'm not just seeing things- I think I will try to use the stack of 2 pulleys that was on the Briggs that came off the MTD-might have to adjust the belt length a little- Anybody got a way of making a smaller belt pull in a wider v-pulley-?- Probably will work-but it will protest. The MTD used a bigger belt for its drive belt than the A-81 did-Thanks-Al

Hi everyone I’m new here but does anyone have a service manual for this exact tractor. My chain keeps popping off and I tried adjusting it but it didn’t work.

Roller chains ware and get longer, sprockets ware out . Not sure what your problem is sprocket alignment can cause it to come off.  Check for any side movement between sprockets.

could be any or all of these causing the chain to come off.
