David Upton 11 #1 Posted June 28, 2013 Could use some help with the age of a WH mod K301S spec 47421D ser #7356105 which sits on chassis 61-07K801-14729. This is an older C-120. Thank you
546cowboy 301 #2 Posted June 28, 2013 (edited) Well that model number 61-07K801 comes up as a 1976 B-60 and would be a 7 hp.not a C-120, 61-12K802 is a 1976 C-120 so I assume you got that model number wrong if it has a K-301 Edited June 28, 2013 by 546cowboy
David Upton 11 #3 Posted June 28, 2013 Looks like this unit must be a conglomeration of different parts as these numbers are correct. Thank for your help here. Wish it were a stock model but needless to say a strong puller as it is.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,031 #4 Posted June 28, 2013 Model 61-07K801 is a 1976 B-60 8-speed that originally used a Kohler K-161T-281269J with recoil start and magneto ignition. Wheels Horse used the K301S-47421D 1973-1977 in the C-Series tractors and the 7356105 Kohler serial was made in 1976. Here is the manual to the B-60 http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/1080-tractor-1976-b-series-8-speed-om-part2-803451r2pdf/ http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/1262-tractor-1976-b-series-8-speed-om-part3-803451r2pdf/ The C-Series 8-speeds are also in this manual. So what is not original - the ID plate or the engine? Garry
David Upton 11 #5 Posted June 28, 2013 I have taken notice that the starboard side engine mounting holes extend past the chassis and are open which leads me to believe this is not the correct engine. C- 120 decal on hood, 8 speed transfer with electric keyed starter.
rmaynard 15,421 #6 Posted June 28, 2013 That is the correct mounting position for a K241, K301, and K341engine. Two bolts go up through the frame into the oil pan. The flange holes are left unused on that side. All the 1976 models had the same frame and mounting holes, but the B-60 and B-80 used a different engine mounting plate. 953 nut 55,039 #7 Posted June 28, 2013 We could probably do a better job if you could add a few photos of the items you have questions about.
