leeave96 487 #1 Posted June 26, 2013 Got back from the show and fired-up the 314-8 w/36" RD deck and knocked out the grass. My yard is anything but smooth and level, this is the 2nd 36 inch RD deck I've owned and if you keep up with the grass (to avoid wind-rowing), IMHO - these decks give the best looking cut. Back to work!
Tankman 3,518 #2 Posted June 26, 2013 The 48" SD decks on my Horses do a great job. I did love my 36" RD deck. Towed a Jackson or Parker sweeper when mowing. I do miss the RD though. I also had gang reels, made fast work of the lawn. Wow! Clean and mean lookin' lawns! Lawn was usually mowed and swept when I got home from work. The sons and the Mrs. loved the old Stallions! Sparky-(Admin) 21,300 #5 Posted June 26, 2013 Same here, got home late Saturday night from the show and by mid-morning Sunday I was mowing with my C-165 and a 42"SD deck. Great way to end the weekend! Mike..............

leeave96 487 #7 Posted June 27, 2013 Lawn and tractor look great. Do I see train tracks there in the background? Yes - it is an old railroad spur. Hasn't been used for years, probably never will be again either as the industrial building at the end of it is being taken down. It will likely become a walking/bike trail. Looks really good. About how big is your lawn that you mow with the RD? Yard is not to big, not to small. Big enough to make mowing with a push mower a chore, small enough to make mowing with a rider not a chore - but satisfies the seat time bug. I like the post. Love the railroad tracks in the back yard. What road is it? It is not on a road. The track is perpendicular to a series of dead end streets.
