WHNerd 8 #1 Posted June 24, 2013 HELP Yesterday I was plowing the garden, all was going well, when all of the sudden the transmission started to slip. When you move the lever to engage tranny the tractor may move a little bit, both in forward and reverse or not move at all. Checked fluid ok, check belt ok, checked pulley on tranny ok.. Need some expert advice. I bought this rebuilt pump about 7 or 8 years ago and has worked flawlessly. Appreciate any help. Thanks 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
pfrederi 17,635 #2 Posted June 24, 2013 (edited) Just to make sure this is on an Electro 12 and it is a Hydro-Gear transmission vs a piston to piston. Reason I ask is when the hydro-gear was discontinued some were replaced with piston to piston units. Also you said it was rebuilt, WH said the hydrogears were not serviceable... A hydro gear has a motor housing that looks like the number 8 when looking at it (It is a gear pump) Piston to piston units have a round motor housing face. daveoman1966 3,745 #3 Posted June 24, 2013 There are so many possibilities.... 1).. inspect the cam plate and cam on the front of the hyd pump. (item 58 & 59 in this schematic). CAREFULLY remove a couple items from the pump...CAREFULLY and KEEP EVERY THING CLEAN! ! ! 2) spring # 69 or 74 may be broken 3) Look at springs 76 and 78 too. 4) Be sure the push valve #61 is closed. 5) there is a small set screw at the top of item 57 which holds the cam in position...check it. 6) The cam #58 may be worn so flat that the cam plate 59 won't properly engage it.
