BOWTIE 226 #1 Posted June 22, 2013 I BOUGHT A 1997 312-8 WITH 37" DECK. TRACTOR HAS 419 HOURS AND RUNS GREAT. IT WILL NEED A FRONT TIRE ( TITAN TURF TRAC R/S 15X6.00-6 NHS ). IT SET WITH A FLAT CRACKED THE SIDEWALL REALLY BAD. I GAVE $700 PLUS $25 IN GAS. I BOUGHT IT IN MANSFIELD,OHIO. THEY ALSO HAD A 1632 SPEEDEX SOLD FOR $800 WITH DECK AND FRONT PLOW IT ALSO HAD A 3 POINT HITCH IT RAN GOOD. FOR NOW I WILL BE STARTING ANOTHER PROJECT, DISMANTLE IT SO I CAN CLEAN IT THAN POLISH. BOWTIE 226 #6 Posted June 23, 2013 YES, A 37" DECK. I HAVE MORE PICTURES. BOWTIE
rick 233 #7 Posted June 23, 2013 That is a nice tractor, and the 37" deck is said to be one of the best as far as nice cutting. I had an '89 310-8 with a 37" deck. Now my youngest daughter owns it.My '97 314-8 is my favorite.
BOWTIE 226 #8 Posted June 23, 2013 I THINK YOUR RIGHT ON THE 37" GIVING NICER CUT,IT IS LIKE USING A PUSHMOWER. THE GUY THAT OWNED IT GREASED AND OIL IT ALL THE TIME BUT NEVER GAVE IT BATH. THERES NO RUST ANYWHERE EVEN ON THE LOWER SIDE PANELS. IT WILL TAKE 20-30 HOURS TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE NEW AGAIN. I WILL POST SOME PICTURES AS I GO. I STILL MOW WITH MY 99 314-8 42" SIDE. THANKS BOWTIE
BOWTIE 226 #9 Posted July 2, 2013 I STARTED TAKING IT APART TODAY. I WILL PRESSURE WASH TOMORROW TO START AND THEN KEROSENE WITH A BRUSH,THEN SOAPING DAWN DISH DETERGANT. THIS TRACTOR WAS NEVER CLEANED .
Fordiesel69 259 #10 Posted July 2, 2013 Very nice. My 312-8 is just like that but with the smaller backed seat. Very nice tractor. The small tires in the front really make it easy to steer. It will look like new when you are done. My personal opinion is to leave it be, and not paint / decal it. It is too nice.
BOWTIE 226 #11 Posted July 2, 2013 THIS TRACTOR HAS NO RUST OR PAINT PEEL. I WILL RUB THE TRACTOR AND MAYBE A NEW REAR FENDER DECAL. I THINK I CAN POLISH THE FENDER WHERE THE GAS WAS SPILLED ON IT. I WILL NOT PAINT THE TRACTOR. BOWTIE
