That is a nice tractor, and the 37" deck is said to be one of the best as far as nice cutting. I had an '89 310-8 with a 37" deck. Now my youngest daughter owns it.My '97 314-8 is my favorite.

I THINK YOUR RIGHT ON THE 37" GIVING NICER CUT,IT IS LIKE USING A PUSHMOWER. THE GUY THAT OWNED IT GREASED AND OIL IT ALL THE TIME BUT NEVER GAVE IT BATH. THERES NO RUST ANYWHERE EVEN ON THE LOWER SIDE PANELS. IT WILL TAKE 20-30 HOURS TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE NEW AGAIN. I WILL POST SOME PICTURES AS I GO. I STILL MOW WITH MY 99 314-8 42" SIDE. THANKS

Very nice.  My 312-8 is just like that but with the smaller backed seat.  Very nice tractor.  The small tires in the front really make it easy to steer.  It will look like new when you are done.

My personal opinion is to leave it be, and not paint / decal it.  It is too nice.

THIS TRACTOR HAS NO RUST OR PAINT PEEL. I WILL RUB THE TRACTOR AND MAYBE A  NEW REAR FENDER DECAL. I THINK I CAN POLISH THE FENDER WHERE THE GAS WAS SPILLED ON IT. I WILL NOT PAINT THE TRACTOR.
